I have written profiles, blogs, and educational content for several organizations. Here are a few examples of my work below.

September 2023

This blog piece is a discussion of the book, “You Deserve a Tech Union,” and an interview with its author, Ethan Marcotte. The Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC) requested that we feature Ethan Marcotte’s book in order to generate interest in our growing Tech Workers Campaign as well as an upcoming Tech Workers Conference. I read the book and prepared the interview questions for the piece.

March 2024

EWOC wanted to spotlight one of their volunteer organizers, Alex Dinndorf, who had been involved with two of our most exciting campaigns. After hearing Alex’s story, I uncovered a compelling narrative of an upwardly mobile young man who was educated in public policy, and became radicalized as a server in the restaurant industry. This blog piece details Alex’s journey from his first job as a grocery deli worker in the Midwest to a volunteer organizer in NYC, giving readers a glimpse of what it means to be a union organizer.

January 2024

This blog is a profile of a union campaign. Writing this blog involved talking to several different participants with different timelines and perspectives with regard to their affiliation with the campaign. There were some stories that appeared to contradict others, so I had to figure out how all the pieces fit together into one congruent narrative. There was more fact-checking and research involved with this blog, but it was also a lot of fun talking to everyone and putting the pieces together.

March 2022

After a Buddhist nun loses her mother, she reflects on how she experiences grief through the lens of her Buddhist traditions and beliefs about the afterlife. The blog was published as part of the Temple’s mission to share the Teachings of Buddha.
